Freedom is a promise. But it’s only real if we uphold it…for everyone.
Five years ago, I met Dr. Opal Lee — changemaker, educator,
#NobelPeacePrize nominee, friend, and the unstoppable force behind the
#FreedomForAll movement to make Juneteenth a national holiday.
We didn’t wait for a contract. We took her on as an
#ImpactPartner and pro bono cause because the mission demanded it —and because at
@INVNT, we believe in doing great work, and work that does great things.
Together, we rallied communities, activated across disciplines, and collected over 2 million signatures. The result: Juneteenth was signed into federal law—the first new national holiday since Martin Luther King Jr. Day almost 40 years ago.
This moment wasn’t just historic. It was proof that strategy, creativity, and action can change the world.
But more than that, it’s a symbol of the freedom and equality we must continue to fight for—boldly, urgently, relentlessly.
Opal famously wrote: “The road to true freedom is long, but I’ve walked it my whole life. Will you walk with me?”
That question has never mattered more. In a time of global division and societal strain, unity isn’t a tagline—it’s a choice. One that takes courage. One that demands action.
As brand storytellers, our mission is to connect humanity through moments that matter. Juneteenth was one of them. And it won’t be the last.
To our partners: Unity Unlimited , Shawn Costner, Creative Artists Agency,
@caaspeakers ,
@Sephora,
@outfrontmedia , Peter Viska, and so many others — thank you for walking alongside us.
The time is now. The place is everywhere. Let’s walk together.
