The only reason AI is still around right now is bc it keeps being funded by VCs and government contracts. It's not profitable at all and likely never will be. And the amount of raw data it needs to actually work is MUCH HIGHER than what is legally available for free

quite frankly i think the people who are like “welp AI is here. we can’t put the genie back in the bottle” are selling everyone short. i’m a firm believer that most things can actually be undone and if we had any sort of functioning government they could out the kibosh on it.
