The fact that it got to the point where IU is crying at a fan event and Byeon Woo-seok is writing handwritten apologies is just insane.
The blame should not be falling this heavily on the actors. Actors are there to act they aren’t historians.
They should not be the shield for a lazy production team. They trusted the writers and directors to do their jobs. The actors are not the ones who wrote the script or designed the coronation scene the production team did. What are they apologizing for ?
Worked so hard for this project, anticipated it so much and even did countdowns with us🥲 & now can’t celebrate your well deserved achievements🙂
The most amazing kind-hearted people you can find in the industry. They don’t deserve you both fr!
I pray only good things find you❤️
Have you noticed how IU apologized for Perfect Crown coz it's South Korea that is insulted, but no one apologized from Genie Make A Wish for the depiction of Islamic figures and themes and When The Phone rings for their Zionist narrative?
m b c fumbled the production, failed to do proper research, being incompetence, and somehow the actors are still the ones carrying all the burden, taking the blame and apologizing? what kind of nonsense is this?
We were just celebrating because our faves finally got a drama with a heart fluttering ending where no one died… but now, it’s even sadder to see that instead of having happy thoughts in real life, the two of them ended up apologizing for something that was never their fault
So let me get this straight. Before the director yells action, IU—who is famously and humbly still rocking a basic iPhone 14 with a cracked screen—is supposed to pull out her phone and what? Realize she doesn’t have the latest built-in Gemini AI to magically scan and fact-check props sitting in a completely different palace set?! 😭😂💀
The sheer insanity of these toxic, organized political mobs is off the charts. They are literally pausing screens to count beads on Byeon Woo-seok’s crown and tracking props just to force handwritten apologies.
Since when is it the lead actors' job to act as 24/7 historical research consultants while trying to deliver legendary, emotionally complex performances? That is exactly what the wardrobe department, art directors, and highly paid network consultants are hired to do!
An actor’s job is to act. IU and Byeon Woo-seok delivered an absolute masterpiece with a historic 13.8% finale. Expecting an artist with an iPhone 14 to pull double duty as a corporate compliance officer for a multi-million dollar television network is peak comedy. Stay mad, trolls! 🛑🤡

i still don’t think wooseok and iu ever needed to apologize in the first place, but i guess they did what they felt they had to do since this whole thing stopped being constructive criticism a while ago and turned into a full on witch hunt.
i know iu and i know she would do the same over and over again because that's the right thing to do (for now and because she's too kind) BUT I'M STILL PISSED. FCK MBC.
IU grew up under the public’s spotlight and love, so it’s understandable that people hold her to a certain standard. The burden of this production mistake shouldn’t fall entirely on the leads shoulders, but acknowledging it & apologizing was still the right and mature thing to do
mbc you should release a statement saying it's not the actors fault! this is crazy, prominent actors should take notes and never work with mbc again. and to those gloating, just wait til other people's irresponsible actions get pinned on you and your faves! your time is coming 🤬
