Trying to figure out my 1st ever US health insurance package. I'm overwhelmed by the info (and thank goodness for informative youtube videos) and cannot understand why we USians think this shitty, expensive and fragmented health care system is the best we can do. Do better USA.

First paycheck in the USA day! I can't decide whether to splash out on ice cream or redecorating my entire office. ADHD makes things very much either or.

About that the time when, 30 mins before a job offer zoom call, without a working mobile phone, there was loud construction on my street that probs caused the power outage which absolutely fried my internet. My resourcefulness knows no bounds. I blame academia. I now have a job.

Thanks @reggiemurphy and all for a great discussion today and for the hope that a diverse background is an asset in #UXR. I'll be using "if you really want something, be shameless about it" from now on.

I'm booking headshots and I'm terrified.
Remember that time at that grad summer school when that well-known tenured prof did that thing and everyone with any power just tisk tisked and went on doing their own things? Yeah, me too.
Today is my third non-academic research position interview day. Tots excited. Cross your fingers for me interwebs!

I've reached the stage of #postphdlife where I no longer feel the dread of an impending deadline looming over my evenings. I don't even want to procrasta-netflix or procrasta-clean. Is this what normal people feel like?
