San Jose, CA: In one of the most jaw-dropping displays of pure police bravery you'll ever see, a San Jose police sergeant took a bullet straight to the head during an all-out gunfight skull fractured and still kept firing back at the suspect until backup rolled up and ended the threat.
The suspect, 30-year-old Mohamed Husien of Davis, California, went on a multi-day violent crime spree that started Jan. 17 with stealing a red Corvette from a Sacramento dealership, followed by armed robberies at a convenience store, a liquor store on McKee Road in San Jose, then two more the next day on the Peninsula and Coleman Road.
He was killed by police Wednesday to stop the rampage. "Coming this close to losing an officer is a nightmare," San Jose Police Chief Paul Joseph said Thursday. That sergeant didn't just survive he fought like hell with a fractured skull and saved lives.
Absolute legend.
