Destiny peeps really showing up for this post! I only have 1400 hours of D2, so I'm a small time player, but a Conquerer nonetheless!

In connection with transparency, I think they should be public about sales data, cost of game development, and allow for the creation of sites like steamdb, but for Xbox so that people can see from trusted sources how many people are playing a game what the peak was etc. Xbox can't continue allowing Steam to control the narrative about how well a game is doing.

Great Post below! It's true Sony did this. There are a ton of benefits from Xbox doing this. Probably the most important benefit is that, even if still wholly owned my Microsoft, they could have their work culture, their own board of directors (assigned by Microsoft), their own employment policies, easier time dealing with the ftc for future acquisitions, etc. There are some negative aspects too, such as it being easier to sell if they decided they wanted to, but some might see this as a benefit too.
It’s cool when they do it, it’s a problem when Xbox is even thinking about doing it. That’s if this latest information is true or not.

I had talked many times about Xbox living in a world that wasnt based in reality. It started when they didnt report the hardware numbers and tried to hide them. At that point accountability was a central issue and that point moving forward it became a cat and mouse game. So why im happy is Asha wants transparency and she wants to work in the real world with real time results. She wants a level playing field because what she inherited was anything but that. I’m of the belief that when these extremely deep cuts , restructuring of the studios, closures, games cancelled, layoffs, and the full reset comes that she will be finally level. Sure it comes with pain and sadness. It comes at cost but that’s how real businesses operate and moving forward she wants to be judged with transparency all around. No more hiding , no more leaning on Satya. What comes after that is going to be a very strong period of growth for Xbox. As a xbox fan I want two simple things. Exclusives and or something exclusive. Every asset and IP gives something to Xbox over the competition. Furthermore I want an affordable straightforward Xbox. I believe if they do those two things they will prosper.

The mood around Xbox is they are ready to go to War. They are ready to all be accountable. This is not a mood of something this is being sold off. They just are being transparent. They are going to have layoffs , they are going to to have studio closures. After that they are going to make this a realistic company running either with support of Satya or I believe subsidiary of MS after the reset and the deep cuts they are going into battle. Asha is a no fuck around professional and she wants to take on Sony. She knows she has the studios, ip, and she is looking for a realistic start point which is coming shortly. That’s the reason for optimism in lieu of the upcoming brace of the reset. Xbox wants to go to War. They want to take share, they want to be competitive, and most of all they want to be respected. She gets it boys and girls. Do not feed into the negativity, it’s a front for fear. They all know what Xbox is capable of and they know that if this gets off the ground that it’s all gonna switch up. @ballmatthew @asha_shar Play Ball. 🏀

The examples about third party exclusives not moving the needle for Xbox are not great. This is because: 1. The were timed. 2. They revealed when the games would land on Playstation. Not only do I believe timed exclusives are useless, it's even worse is when you say for how long!
Xbox CEO says the platform may need third-party exclusives and potential mergers and acquisitions to compete across hardware, PC, mobile, and streaming. wccftech.com/xbox-ceo-floats…

Nonsense. Xbox is at 3% profit margins today; that is with the multiplatform strategy fully in place. They had ≈ 12% back in 2022. With exclusives. I'll not say the multiplatform strategy is the one problem, but it sure as hell didn't help their revenue on platform.

So this is Xbox Sony relationship Get sued by Sony Give em all your games Have Sony clown you by using Trailers of Halo and than get mad when you say no Get the best version of the game on console Demand you can’t pull back any games or they will sue you Says you can’t have gamepass on its console Doesn’t show your logos on third party games only theirs Says no you can’t have TLOU for Gamepass or any of our games Am I missing one @asha_shar I mean everyone sees this and as a leader it’s a signal of weakness too. Ask Satya for some cash and backing. Microsoft benefits because the story is known by everyone and most of all it’s the right thing to do. If you get TLOU on gamepass ok , if not , pull the rug on all. I know you have it in you Asha

Matthew Ball (Xbox CSO): “It has become difficult to articulate why you should pick an Xbox console. Exclusives are an important way to do that. This is why you’ll have seen such a quick shift to exclusives. [...] We have an obligation to work harder and more clearly to explain why you should be an Xbox player." thegamebusiness.com/p/the-bi…

Xbox is "fixable", says Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball in new interview: ▪️Will invest more in its big IP, cut back on niche productions ▪️Xbox can improve - how hard it will be or how long it will take are different questions ▪️It's "difficult to articulate" why someone should buy an Xbox, exclusives help with that ▪️Xbox presence smaller in EU/Japan, PC is the most popular, "Windows is where the world plays", so we encourage players to do so in those markets ▪️Working hard to rethink Helix, make things more affordable, new business models ▪️Console is growing, not dying. No desire to move away from console More in the full Interview ▶️ youtu.be/rTM-I_HDC9A?si=Zm0r… #Xbox

We just shared with our team the realities we need to navigate as we work to reset the XBOX business. We won't succeed by hiding hard truths, nor will we succeed by doing the same thing and expecting different results. See the note here: news.xbox.com/en-us/2026/06/…

Sony is mad because MS pulled the Halo trailer. Good, one of the worst decisions Phil made in this one-sided relationship was to give them Xbox games with nothing in return, and Sony continues the way it does business by trying to prevent third-party games from showing up on Xbox.
