Seeing how negative emotions lead to negative consequences can help us overcome them. Just as we can learn how helpful love and compassion can be, we can come to understand that anger, pride, jealousy and arrogance can be detrimental. We need to use reason and human intelligence.

We like to find like-minded people sharing our values and opinions. A majority wins in a democracy, but keep in mind that truth and facts are not a democratic process. Having a large group of people agree doesn't make it right. Civil rights heroes always have to fight majorities.
