So far, I’ve worked on the character designs for two VTubers.
One of them used to be part of an agency, but now continues as an independent VTuber. The other is a male VTuber from FSP who debuted last year.
As an illustrator, I believe my role is to create their designs and artwork, and that, in a sense, is where my job ends. What happens afterward in their careers or personal lives is something I should view separately, for better or worse.
And this isn’t limited to talents alone.
The same goes for illustrators. If something has a beginning, it will eventually come to an end. Looking at reality, I’ve seen many fellow artists leave the industry because it became too difficult to continue making a living from it.
That’s why I want to continue supporting the people who brighten my life, even just a little, while they’re still active, and cherish the time we get to see their work.
Nothing lasts forever, and I don’t think we should ever take that for granted.
It’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately.
