It was developed through "Medium-Altitude Performance-Improved Turboprop Engine Technology ('21.07-'25.08)" project, and plans to acquire Initial Flight Release (IFR) through "Propeller-Driven Aero-Engine Prototype Development and Engine Certification Demonstration Technology ('24.12-'28.12)" project. Max-continuous power achieved 1,400 hp, which is about 17% improvement over PT6A-67A (1,200hp).
Also, HAF4500 turbofan engine is under development utilizing KTP1400 core engine through "Development of Core Technology for 4,500lbf-Class High-Bypass Turbofan Engine for Electrified Aircraft ('26.04~'29.12)" project. HAF4500 is 4,500lbf, high-bypass turbofan engine (BPR 4 ). It features application of Inter-Shaft Rotor and integration of ISG capable of generating 100kWe.
