Today we submitted to @Shell a letter endorsed by over 90 signatories across the Philippines and the world protesting the #carbonmajor's new gas plans in climate-vulnerable PH. Shell is looking to build its LNG terminal in biodiversity-rich VIP, and we say NO WAY! #ShellOutOfVIP

The Verde Island Passage is considered to be the 'Amazon of the Oceans' because of its high concentration of marine life. Sadly, the ongoing oil spill puts the Oriental Mindoro side of this marine corridor in peril.

⚠️⚠️⚠️ The water tests done by the Philippine Coast Guard Recent show that traces of industrial fuel has now been found in the waters of Naujan, Oriental Mindoro. The MT Empress Princess was carrying 800,000 liters of industrial oil before it eventually sunk. ⚠️⚠️⚠️

Shell’s banner year is good for its stockholders but bad for everyone else. Every dollar of profit to shareholders represents untold misery to everyone else as they dealt with the effects of the climate emergency, for which Shell bears a great responsibility. #ShellOutOfVIP

Almost 2/3 of Shell’s profits in the final three months of 2022 came from its gas business. Its ₱3.5 billion LNG terminal project in Batangas is a testament to the obscene greed of fossil fuel companies with no disregard for the climate impacts and communities it will affect.
