Lost access to tweetdeck, so i created my own version at tweetdeck.shijith.com . Dont think many people use tweetdeck anymore (it's now known as x pro), but it used to be a boon for twitter obsessives like me. Made it very easy to follow different topics in a single tab, instead of having to open dozens of them. i was so reliant on tweetdeck that when X put it behind a paywall, i even took up an x premium plan (~Rs 400 p.m.) to continue having access to it. But a few months back, x pro access was moved to a higher tier premium plus plan that costs ~5 times more. I had enough. Created a basic version that 'surfaces' the most popular tweets from my favourite lists. I'll continue adding features, but for the way i use twitter now, 1-2 hours after dinner when i catch up on what's happened throughout the day, it's good enough.

Saw this in Jiomart today. A floor cleaner 'Gonyle' whose primary ingredient is distilled cow urine. Let me repeat that: Distilled cow urine. So you clean your floor by first dipping your mop in pee. Number 1. Susu. How did we end up in this timeline? How did we go so backward?

There should be an NSFW warning on this ad. Those two-finger gestures mean different things in other cultures. And contexts! 😉

This cream roll from Bistro really nailed the texture. @letsblinkit this is concerning, would have injured my gums.

A line of people near my home waiting for LPG cylinders. This is giving me real demonetisation vibes now. And look at the people who are standing in line. The shortage is affecting every section of society now.

Adventures with Gemini: Part 2 So when you use Google's coding tools like Gemini CLI, you can specify which model you'd like to use. So you can say you want to use only Gemini 3.1 Pro & you'll be able to use it till you hit your token quota for the day. What's happening now is that even after specifying Gemini 3.1 Pro, a lesser model Gemini 3.1 Flash responds sometimes (see img). Now this can happen when you choose the "Auto (Gemini 3)" option which lets any model from the Gemini 3 family to respond. But that wasn't even the case here, as I'd manually specified Gemini 3.1 Pro. Meaning Google's ability to meet demand is so poor now that it's letting its coding tools ignore user settings now :(

Rant about Gemini and its usage limits. So i have a free Gemini Pro subscription for 1 and a half years courtesy my Jio postpaid plan. So I thought "Great, will be able to code with Gemini's best model everyday now!" Wrong. Started working around 9:30 am today. Used their flagship model Gemini 3.1 Pro for barely 2 hours, when i got the msg that i've hit usage limits for the day. And the limits will reset when? 10:20 AM Indian time tomorrow, nearly 24 hours later! Meaning at the rate at which i code, my Gemini Pro subscription gets me just 2 hours a day with their best model. F**k my life

Ran out of N95 masks, so decided to stock up. A pack of 10 masks that i bought for Rs 339 back in Nov 2024 is now Rs 1100 in Jan 2026. So the price has tripled in just 14 months, outrageous. If governments cant bring down pollution levels, at least bring down N95 mask prices.

Thought I'd show how much muck we breathe in everyday in Delhi-NCR. On the left is a new n95 mask I've taken out today. On the right is the mask I used whole of last week. I use this everyday when i walk back home. So after ~2 hours of use, this is what happens to the mask :(

So you can get samosas at train stations in Jamaica. Also, egg rolls on the streets of Uganda. You become happy that people have taken to Indian food in all these random countries. Till you realise how the food got there in the first place (British indentured labour).
