The Foundation for Social Investment: Making #Charities and #SocEnt more resilient, improving access to social investment, and supporting enterprise activity
The government has reconfirmed £87.5 million from the #DormantAssetsScheme to support trading charities, co-ops & social enterprises that struggle to access finance.
Of that, £12.5 million will be allocated to organisations improving youth outcomes. This investment will help create more resilient organisations, helping them to reach more young people & create lasting impact.
Huge thanks to @EIRISFoundation for hosting today’s event @ToynbeeHall on ‘Utilising whole endowments for mission.’
Access CEO @sebelsworth joins the opening panel with @ImpactInvInst and the Charities Responsible Investment Network (CRIN) on research and resources.

Fantastic to hear about progress on the Charity Investment Governance Principles, building on Butler Sloss and exploring best practice in decision making - hat-tip to @CFGtweets@NCVO and others for driving forward.
Looking forward to the launch 🚀

Fantastic to see @Steph_Peacock the new Minister for Civil Society @DCMS getting out and about already.
Visiting a brilliant social enterprise in Barnsley that makes education accessible for young people (also one that has received #DormantAssets funding via social investment).
Brilliant to visit social enterprise @ReallyNEETPro today as minister. I had the chance to see their outstanding youth work & learning offer, supporting young people to build relationships and develop new skills across Barnsley. They also have sites in Rotherham, Telford & London
