Had a great time last week hosting @BjerknesBCCR visiting fellow @sillinuss. Lots of discussions of ML for weather and climate applications. And a great presentation building up from ML basics to large neural networks for weather prediction.

We show that applying SAM only to the normalization layers of a network (SAM-ON) enhances performance compared to applying it to the full network.
