i went to evo 2019 for uni and there is no way it was this cheap wtf 😭😭😭😭😭
The biggest reason is absolutely cost. It's around $400 just for registration and 1-2 games. Here's my evo 2019 reg for comparisons sake, i got to play uni and some side tournaments.

genuinely heartbreaking to see evo turn into what it is today. watching bala vs madkof at evo 2012 is the reason why i started playing fighting games competitively in the first place too which makes me even sadder.
the worst part is knowing this is their own undoing too.
