Today, I had the honor of attending the Puerto Rican Parade in the beautiful neighborhood of Humboldt Park, celebrating the rich culture, history, and contributions of the Puerto Rican community.
Established in 1958 and held every second Sunday in June, this tradition honors the 3.2 million residents of Puerto Rico and the millions of Puerto Ricans who call the United States home. It was wonderful to see families, community leaders, veterans, small businesses, and residents come together in a spirit of pride, unity, and celebration.
As a candidate for Mayor, I believe every community deserves to be seen, heard, and respected. Chicago's Puerto Rican community has played a vital role in shaping our city, strengthening our neighborhoods, supporting small businesses, and enriching our culture for generations.
Thank you to everyone who welcomed me, shared their stories, and celebrated this special day. I will continue visiting every ward and every neighborhood because every community deserves a seat at the table.
Happy Puerto Rican Parade Day!
Chicagoans First. One City. One Future.
