Intervallo VII-2's battle themes have a lot more characterisation than its preceding Canto. While it's fairly simple and on-the-nose as a 'sequel' to YMFTCTB, the ttaepyeongso, haegeum, and the BL choral mixed with edm and camera flashes paints a very clear picture (haha).

To wit, Vengeance, the song that plays when Kim drops hot bars and bamboo hats all over everyone, lacks any edm influence and uses the same instruments as Intervallo III-2 Boss Theme, but the ttaepyeongso isn't muted and shoved behind the percussion any more.

My personal reading of this is that the ttaepyeongso is in an indicator of Kim's sanity. It fights to stay above the percussion and EDM in Intervallo VII-2's and III-2's boss theme, but in Vengeance it is clear and above the rest, showing his renewed purpose.
