๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ‰ Happy birthday, E2! Ten years ago on this day, the type took off for the first time. Since then, the programme has accumulated close to 500 orders. @airwaysmagazine @embraer

๐Ÿ”ด The A220 is forcing SWISS to cut part of its network from Geneva. The airline blames "continuing limited availability worldwide of aircraft and engine parts for the SWISS Airbus A220 fleet" for the cessation of routes to Berlin, Hamburg and Pristina. via @airwaysmagazine

For context, in 2025, the media were told that the global situation with the type's engine would improve in 2026. This doesn't seem to be reflected in what airlines are saying worldwide.

๐Ÿด Alitalia branded cutlery, but a nice and very Italian (in a way) breakfast service. Light, healthy and tasty, I wouldn't have traded this for pastries. I had a couple of coffees to prepare for the long day ahead.

๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ And we soon landed in Amsterdam. All in all, the A321neo stands out, not only in business class. Something to improve here and there, but nothing is perfect. A refreshing experience after the mediocre A320neo flight from Catania. And you can read more soon at @airwaysmagazine!

โฐ We pushed back slightly behind schedule due to airspace restrictions in Amsterdam. The seat configuration means it's far easier to look outside than similar non-reverse herringbone products installed on some other A321neos. It also guarantees more privacy.

โœˆ๏ธ A few weeks ago I flew Italy's (and probably Europe's) most "premium" narrowbody, the A321neo, from Rome to Amsterdam. Here's a not-so-short thread with all the details, because I don't like clickbaiting people :)

๐Ÿ˜• The seat was however rather covered in stains, with crumbs and dirt all over the place too.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Seat 5F, reverse herringbone towards the back of the 12 seat cabin. The front row comes with even more space, not that it'd ever be needed on this flight. Modern seat, large Airbus Airspace bin above, storage behind the IFE, not a bad first impression.

๐Ÿ›ซ ITA only has a few of these aircraft. The layout is 1-1 layout in business, 2-2 in premium economy and 3-3 in economy class. All seats come with chargers, touchscreen IFE and a short complimentary WiFi voucher for messaging.

๐Ÿ’บThe A321neo is equipped in a proper three-class layout and usually found on medium haul routes to the GCC. Today's flight, a short hop to the Dutch capital, is a nice chance to try the product. The upgrade to a proper business class seat cost me 60 euros on the CTA-FCO-AMS leg.

๐Ÿ˜• Some sad sights on the way to the gate. Ex-Alitalia and current ITA aircraft are stored in the distance as a result of different dynamics.
