I may go on about non-structural carbohydrates but you have to admit they do quite neatly explain declines in nocturnal plant respiration.

we're currently having a 2-hub online hybrid event between UK and Brazil. This has reduced travel, but also allows 1-2-1 interaction. Working so far -but yes we are learning how to do hybrid better. We certainly shouldn't revert to a "all must travel" regime

It turns out a PhD in plant modelling just about qualifies you to hold stuff for real ecologists in the lab. Thanks to @biobartholomew for showing me part of the process for analysing NSC concentrations in tree cores at the University of Campinas!
