No-one has done more than acclaimed scholar @wmarybeard to bring classics alive for the population at large. For No 10 to block her appointment as a @britishmuseum trustee - solely for having remainer views - is a disgusting form of political censorship. theguardian.com/books/2020/m…

Stunning lecture by Ed Bailey - demonstrating a superb grasp of patient safety but also demonstrating the transparency of Barts Health in reporting

Just seen published book review about Gray's Surgical Anatomy Thrilled that the book is being so well received. It is already been reprinted within 2 months of being released which is apparently exceptional for a medical textbook.. We wanted to make learning anatomy fun!

My heartfelt thanks to all the hardworking staff of @LDNairamb whose tireless life-saving care saw them treat 1,730 patients last year.

Why are you surprised - do you think the French will be more hospitable ? Charles de Gaulle will be particularly special -
Absolutely disgusting service at Schiphol airport. 55 minutes we have been stood in the immigration queue. This isn’t the Brexit I voted for.

Also applies to men ! I have just tried to be open and honest and helpful - that seems to work
A guide to being a female surgeon: Be good but not too good lest men get intimidated Be nice but not too nice or people will think you’re flirting with them or soft Be tough but not too tough or you’re a bitch Take charge but do it nicely (Feel free to add) #ILookLikeASurgeon

The #Brexiters Gold Star Suck-Up Nation Fucking Award programme has certain... side effects, shall we say. Certain - other - areas are... less... than they were. Although starting from a fairly low bar.

The 'Hubris Syndrome'. Ego makes us susceptible to manipulation; narrows our field of vision; it corrupts our behavior, often causing us to act against our values. Ego is not a good attribute for leaders or decision makers. Interesting read @BrennanSurgeon hbr.org/2018/11/ego-is-the-e…

Has anyone one here been to Academia? Everyone I've met from there is a wally. I presume it's in Europe.
