Pascal O'Brien left Dublin by boat, before his 13th. birthday, arriving in England in 1946. Within 5 years, he was touring theatres, impersonating Al Jolson.

#BOTD 100 years ago, comic soprano JOAN TURNER - whom I first saw in a 1966 #MidnightMatinee at the Granada Cinema, Harrow.
A year later, I was at the @salfordvictoria for the first performance of her one-woman show.
In 1970, she danced to my piano-playing with #ShepsBanjoBoys
