The usual difference between men and women in athletic events from sprints to ultra-distance races is usually 10-12%. Today's performance of @gerdarun is 9.1% slower than that of George Kusche, who himself ran the best Comrades-up run of all time. So Gerda's performance is one of the great running performances of all time at any running distance. South Africans 🇿🇦 love @gerdarun but perhaps don't appreciate that her performances need to be considered in a more global running context, not just in terms of her performance as an ultramarathon runner.

Eventful morning. Peeled myself out of bed for parkrun and test my achilles. Lady walked into moving car just before the start (she is okay, but we started late), fiancé's watch sent me a distress call (he stopped to pee) and returned home to the gate motor being stolen. 🙃

Last weekend, I had the worst Sunday blues ever. So today I'm getting a headstart on my work and taking tomorrow off. I'm not sure what kind of psychology this is, but it's working.
