Good morning MB @UnderwaterMedia Great to see your footage on the channel 4 “Dirty Business” docu-drama last night, albeit quite disgusting watching the minnows swim around the sewage detritus. Hopefully the government inertia will be now be nudged into some action 🙂👍

Hey bbc news @BBCNews, why is it you say “Iran supported Houthi rebels” but never say “USA supported IDF war criminals”? Just curious.

‼️Please read and share widely‼️ What does giving Ukrainian territory to russia under Western pressure to end the War mean? Firstly, don’t think of it as territory. That’s the benign label Western politicians apply to hide the reality. It is meant to make such a deal, palatable to all of us. The reality is that it’s giving Ukrainian PEOPLE to a genocidal russian regime. The reality is that it condemns Ukrainian PEOPLE to widespread terror, violence and oppression. The reality is that it will enable the continuation of Ukrainian PEOPLE being imprisoned and tortured. Men, women and yes, children. The reality is that it will enable more Ukrainian children to be abducted and placed with russian families. And taught to HATE their Country and people of birth through russian state educational programs and paramilitary organisations. The reality is that it will enable the russification of Ukrainians. Since 2023 all Ukrainians in the currently occupied territories are forced to renounce their Ukrainian citizenship and take russian passports. The reality is that if they do not, they will have their property confiscated to the russian state, will not be able to get employment, will receive no healthcare nor pension or social benefits. The reality is that you cannot survive without taking russian citizenship. We know those in the occupied territories who endure this. The reality is that women are threatened with sexual violence and rape. Of all ages. The reality is that russians populate occupied Ukrainian territory with their own people. The reality is that the Ukrainian language is banned. The reality is that all internet traffic is monitored by russia. So any pro-Ukrainian discussion can be used to identify and arrest. And face a terrifying ordeal as a result. The reality is that everything you stood for, believed, and accepted as a free person, is removed and replaced by daily fear of what may happen to you. For just saying the wrong word. This is not hyperbole. It’s the reality in the occupied territories. Could you live like this? So remember. It’s not territory. It’s PEOPLE we would be surrendering to a life of daily terror. PEOPLE. ‼️Please share widely ‼️

How is it that mandatory eye tests for old codgers and other near sentient coffin dodgers is the leading item on the BBC news (10 am Monday r4) given the state of……well, everything else.

The take-away moment/event of Glasto’25 was the ridiculously incomprehensible, bendy but thoroughly, thoroughly entertaining Sam Herring, lead singer of Future Islands. Check them out on BBC iPlayer…especially “Seasons”

An interesting, although now old, article laying out the “truth” around Draft Dodging Donnie’s claim that the USA has “given” Ukraine $350 billion. It’s, in fact, somewhat less $113B and the majority has been spent replenishing old with new in the USA. csis.org/analysis/how-suppor…

See while visiting a relative in hospital yesterday. Somewhat poignant and absolutely to the point.

Why does Andrew have access to ANY sensitive information? The man’s naive, weak willed and probably is suffering some financial issues. He should be nowhere near anything that could damage or embarrassment to this country. amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/…

Allotment tomatoes, although slow to ripen are producing loads. Both cherry and plum types. Late blight starting to affect the stems but fruit still ok….if only it would stop raining.

I will never cease to be amazed and enheartened that, in spite of the Christmas disappointment, the ongoing COVID fears and the impending brexit catastrophe, warm hearted people still pile goods into the supermarket food bank bins. Give a tin or packet or two when you go to shop

The bins at our local supermarket were overflowing with stuff. So much so that the store manager had had to provide additional baskets for it all. Anyway, I do hope somebody enjoys the spaghetti hoops (no normal ones available) and digestive biscuits

Sadly though the underlying factors, which resulted in the brexit vote, still exist: immigration, lack of social housing, GP wait times, lack of police, etc. The brexiters voted mainly to try to ease these pains. Unfortunately the current result will just further exacerbate these

Replying to @Femi_sorry
Do you respect Brexit supporters enough to be honest with them about the consequences of their vote, or do you think they're too irrational to handle the truth? The conversation needs to be had.
