I’m excited to share “Species” (~2min shortfilm) Nature, as we know it, is governed by organic and sinuous forms, from cells and organs to planets and the cosmos. In recent years exploring the concept of digital nature, for this piece I set out to remagine some species through the lens of geometry, where the elegant and fluid lines of nature are transformed into sharp and precise edges. Dominated by rhombuses, squares and straight lines to generate a world so unique and personal. What defines ThankYouX’s practice is its ability to operate across systems: painting and code, stillness and motion, physical and digital space. It speaks to both traditional and digitally native audiences, bridging them without compromise. In many ways, it embodies exactly what @ArtBasel Hong Kong’s Zero 10 section is pushing forward: breaking down boundaries and bringing together two worlds that are no longer parallel, but increasingly one.

Together with @someform.studio we had the pleasure of exhibiting Artificial Spaces at the latest edition of @noorriyadhfestival last November in Riyadh. A new iteration of this contemplative installation where physical matter and digital light begin to interact as a single system. At its center, a 25 kg polished marble sphere acts as a small planet that can be rotated and pushed to influence the creation. Its axis slowly shifts while the surrounding space reacts in real time, generating unique environments of light and movement. Each space is generated live through CGI. Each one appears once, then disappears forever. Born from the beautiful randomness of a machine, fed with 3D models of architectural elements as columns, walls, furniture, objects, and programmed with care to allow the system to decide how the space is formed.
