I've moved some of my currently active repositories over to Game of Trees Hub! 🌳 #GoTHub is a transparently funded #Git/#Got repository hosting service - lightweight, BSD-licensed, and a great minimalist alternative to the big tech Check it out: rsadowski.gothub.org/

Kudos to Robert Nagy (robert@). Without much fuss, he committed OpenWV and enabled Widevine support in Chromium. Now we can all enjoy Netflix, Disney , and other DRM content on #OpenBSD. marc.info/?l=openbsd-ports-c… marc.info/?l=openbsd-ports-c…

I hope you all had a good start to the new year. For my part, I am looking forward to 2026! Every year can be the best year ever. It's up to you! 2025 was a year in which I wrote more than I had done in a long time. I am considering continuing to do so. rsadowski.de/posts/

#OpenBSD #KDE #Qt update: Plasma 6.5.3, Qt 6.10.1, Qt 5.15.18 KDE patches, Newest QtPy stack. It couldn't be any more up to date. That was a lot of work! Now it's time to get it into the cvs tree so that everyone can use it soon.

Some of you may have noticed that #KDE #Plasma 6.5 is out. Normally, #OpenBSD is quick to adopt the latest version. (Even though we are not supported!) 6.5 depends on #Qt 6.9, but we still have 6.8.3. I am working hard on Qt 6.10.

robert@ quietly updated www/chromium to 141.0.7390.107. I'm pleased that my idea to enable "VA-API support by default" has also been applied. The results are solid. I measure with radeontop and the GPU goes towards 10-20%.

No update for a long time. What I've been doing is really boring and in the end doesn't add any value. I'm working on getting CMake from 3 to 4 in the OpenBSD ports. It's kind of a pain in the ass and in the end nothing is gained.

OpenJDK 25 made it into the ports tree just in time for OpenBSD 7.8. That's pretty cool for all Java hackers.

Talk done! Shared OpenBSD's "Security First" philosophy - from privilege separation to code pruning - with an amazing audience today. Now on the train home. Thank you to everyone who listened and asked such thoughtful questions. Your engagement makes this worthwhile.
