Second grade collaborated with fifth grade today and experimented with chemical reaction! We got to see what happens when we combine vinegar (liquid) and baking soda (solid). To their surprise the reaction caused the balloon to blow up (gas) before their eyes🪄👨🏽‍🔬 #matter #STEM

We spent the week writing mini personal narratives about what we like to do. The main focus was having all the parts of a good sentence. My class of scholars knocked it out of the park! The cherry on top? They were proud and ready to share their writing🤩🫶🏼

After spending the week deep diving in the book “The Dot” we got to create our very ✨dot✨ to display in the classroom! First we used marker to create a design on a coffee filter Next we sprayed water onto the filter Finally we watched the magic happen as the colors bled!

After our unit on plants and pollination and diving into pollination process, these scholars were challenged to make their own hand pollinator! They were given a list of materials and had to get creative on how they were going to get the pollen from one flower to the other!
