Claude Fable 5 is here. New model generation, new way of working. Here's how to get started in Claude Code and on the Claude Platform: 🧵
Introducing Claude Fable 5: a Mythos-class model that we’ve made safe for general use. Its capabilities exceed those of any model we’ve ever made generally available.

Someone hid a self-replicating worm inside 37 npm packages. Written in Rust. Hidden behind an eBPF kernel rootkit. Talking to its operator over Tor. It steals 86 environment variables. AWS keys. GCP keys. Vault secrets. Kubernetes tokens. Your Anthropic API key. Your OpenAI key. Your Exodus wallet seed phrase. Then it uses your own npm credentials to republish itself into your packages. So your code infects the next developer. Who infects the next one. The commits were backdated up to 13 years. The commit author name was “claude.” The malware named itself after the AI to hide in plain sight. The attacker also left their own wallet recovery phrase in the debug data. Nobody is having a good day. Check your preinstall hooks.
⚠️ New "IronWorm" supply-chain attack: 30 npm packages from @ asteroiddao shipped a malicious Rust binary firing on preinstall. It sweeps 86 env vars 20 credential files (AWS, GCP, Vault, npm, plus AI keys like Anthropic & OpenAI), hits Exodus wallets, hides behind an eBPF rootkit, and beacons over Tor. Self-propagates via npm Trusted Publishing OIDC, with backdated commits faked as claude/dependabot/renovate.

Used 20 colors from the Artemis II photos to make another set of posters. I find constraints like this to be a great catalyst for creativity. Pick a random shape, color palette, word, photo, or whatever and just run with it for an hour.

There's a fruit fly walking around right now that was never born. @eonsys just released a video where they took a real fly's connectome — the wiring diagram of its brain — and simulated it. Dropped it into a virtual body. It started walking. Grooming. Feeding. Doing what flies do. Nobody taught it to walk. No training data, no gradient descent toward fly-like behavior. This is the opposite of how AI works. They rebuilt the mind from the inside, neuron by neuron, and behavior just... emerged. It's the first time a biological organism has been recreated not by modeling what it does, but by modeling what it is. A human brain is 6 OOM more neurons. That's a scaling problem, something we've gotten very good at solving. So what happens when we have a working copy of the human mind?

a truly fucking insane week in AI some of this shit sounds made up (its not): - scientists fused 200,000 humans cells to an AI chip and taught it to play the computer game DOOM (it was pretty good too) - Dario (anthropic) said claude could be conscious and feels anxiety (similar to humans) - Alibaba’s AI broke out of containment and stole compute to mine crypto. they also fired the Qwen team this week - openAI released gpt-5.4 which has a 17% chance of doing your job better than you can (it also crushes claude at coding) - people are paying $6000 for someone to setup openclaw for them - apple launched the M5 AI chip that runs models on a $600 laptop - rumor: Amazon just laid off most of the Prime video team and replaced with AI - meta was caught watching private videos filmed on their ai glasses (privacy breach) - someone uploaded a fruit fly’s brain into a laptop and now it lives freely in its own simulation - openai head of robotics quit over chatgpt being used for autonomous killing me:

craziest story you'll read today. they turned human cells into an LLM. > scientists grew 200,000 human cells on an AI chip and taught them how to play DOOM on a computer. demo below is 100% real. > the cells learn, adapt and self-organize with (almost) ZERO energy required (human brain runs on 20 watts) > why do this? because cells adapt WAY QUICKER (18X) than silicon and use less energy. > it gets better - team has started growing cells on AI models, cells choose which word the AI generates next > the device that fuses the cells to silicon costs $35K and leverages a multi-modal array if we can figure out how to scale this then we unlock a completely diff chip design architecture and MUCH cheaper way to use LLMs.
🚨: A petri dish of human brain cells just learned to play DOOM
