Great time joining the Dads Always Doing Something (D.A.D.S.) event bringing families together and celebrating the importance of positive male role models in our community. Proud to support their mission and to see two local high school seniors awarded the Dads for Grads scholarships. Thank you to D.A.D.S. for continuing to invest in our young people and set a strong example for what community leadership looks like.

I got to stop by and support the Putnam County Youth Bureau Youth Market this past weekend and had a great time seeing the next generation of entrepreneurs in action. From creative products to real business skills on display, these young people are learning how to dream big, work hard, and bring their ideas to life.

New Yorkers voted to ban partisan gerrymandering and create an independent redistricting process. Now Albany Democrats want to remove the very constitutional language that prohibits drawing maps to favor political parties and incumbents. On the Assembly floor, I asked a simple question: Why eliminate a protection against partisan gerrymandering? The answer speaks for itself.

Today, we celebrate the American flag—a symbol of freedom, sacrifice, and the values that unite us as a nation. May we never take for granted the generations who fought to defend it.

It was an honor to attend the promotion ceremony for Commander Joe Becker, US Navy Reserve, at the Putnam Lake VFW and present him with New York State's Meritorious Service Medal along with a second state commendation recognizing his outstanding service. Joe is a proud product of our community, and his leadership, character, and commitment to service reflect the very values that make Putnam County such a special place to call home. Through his dedication to our nation and his continued example of selfless service, Joe has made all of us proud. Congratulations, Commander Becker, on this well-deserved promotion. Fair winds and following seas as you continue your distinguished career in service to our country. 🇺🇸⚓

Thank you to the Roaring Brook Lake Association for the opportunity to meet with residents today and discuss the future of one of Putnam Valley's greatest natural treasures. We talked about this year's budget victories for Putnam Valley, including increased highway funding, additional municipal aid, support for the Putnam Valley Library and Ambulance Corps, and legislation I authored to add Roaring Brook Lake to New York's Inland Waterways Program. Roaring Brook Lake is more than a body of water—it's part of the identity of this community. My goal is simple: provide local residents with the tools they need to protect water quality, preserve the character of the lake, and ensure future generations can enjoy the same natural beauty that makes Putnam Valley such a special place to call home. Thank you to everyone who attended and shared their thoughts. I look forward to continuing our work together to protect and preserve Roaring Brook Lake.

These dedicated individuals are taking on an important and rewarding responsibility as they work to support, advocate for, and enrich the lives of Yorktown's senior community. Congrats to all!

I'm proud to announce that, alongside Senator Pete Harckham, we secured a historic $50 million increase in CHIPS funding as part of the 2026-27 State Budget. This record investment will provide municipalities with critical resources to repair roads, improve infrastructure, enhance public safety, and help ease the burden on local taxpayers. We’ve heard directly from our local highway superintendents across Putnam and Westchester counties about the challenges posed by rising construction costs and this funding will help ensure they have the tools they need to get the job done.

Every New Yorker deserves the opportunity to participate fully in public life with dignity and respect. I am a proud co-sponsor of the Traveling with Dignity Act, which helps make public spaces more accessible by establishing standards for adult changing accommodations, providing greater comfort, safety, and independence for individuals with mobility challenges and their caregivers. Dignity matters. Accessibility matters. Inclusion matters.

When it comes to election law, details matter. I raised concerns about what happens if a court overturns an election extension after ballots have already been mixed together. Once they're commingled, how do you remedy the situation? Before changing election laws, we need to ensure the process remains transparent, accountable, and worthy of the public's trust.

I was proud to co-sponsor legislation that increases transparency in prescription drug pricing and helps keep neighborhood pharmacies open. Too often, patients and local pharmacies are left navigating a system with little transparency and rising costs. This bill helps ensure pharmacies are fairly reimbursed for the medications they provide, improving access to care while bringing greater accountability to prescription drug pricing. Local pharmacies are more than businesses—they are trusted healthcare partners in our communities. Supporting them means protecting access to the medications and services families rely on every day.

I was proud to co-sponsor the FAIR News Act, legislation that promotes transparency and accountability in an age of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence. As AI-generated content becomes more common, New Yorkers deserve to know whether the news they are consuming was created by a journalist or generated by artificial intelligence. This bill requires clear disclosure when news content is substantially created using AI, helping protect the integrity of journalism and strengthen public trust. Technology is evolving quickly, but transparency must remain a constant. An informed public starts with honest disclosure.

I was proud to co-sponsor and support legislation that strengthens protections for victims of stalking, harassment, cyberstalking, and other predatory behavior. This bill creates a new civil anti-stalking order, giving victims a faster path to protection before situations escalate into violence. Every New Yorker deserves to feel safe in their home, workplace, and online. Protecting victims and preventing harm will always be a priority.
