My cancer experience revealed the flaws in our #healthcare system. Listening and shedding preconceptions are crucial to grasp patient experiences.
Let's drive real change in healthcare. #PatientExperience#HealthcareInnovation
Six years ago this week, following a series of medical failures, I received the devastating news of my cancer diagnosis via email. Determined to turn adversity into purpose, I pledged that if I survived I would dedicate myself to enhancing healthcare delivery for fellow patients.
Fast forward a few years:
🔹 Founded @EquifyHealth to revolutionize healthcare experiences
🔹 Received 2 healthcare innovation awards worth $1.75 million
🔹 Appointed to editorial leadership board of a leading medical journal
🔹 Delivered keynotes at national medical conferences.
Today was a particularly poignant milestone. I delivered a keynote at @NIH where I highlighted the unnecessary suffering patients face, particularly affecting marginalized individuals, and offered a fresh perspective to improve outcomes for everyone. ❤️🩹📈
It's a tremendous honor to present this keynote at the @NIH tomorrow and contribute to enhancing care for cancer patients, critically ill individuals, and underserved populations within our healthcare system.
#HealthEquity#PatientCare ❤️🩹🏥
If we want to achieve #healthequity, we need to understand the lived experiences of marginalized individuals in healthcare.
Honored to deliver this keynote and contribute to improving care for severely ill #patients underserved by our healthcare system.
