Japanese ukiyo-e prints were the inspiration for indie game creators Small Island Games’s point-and-click puzzler, Haiku Adventure.
@smallislanddevs exhibited the development work behind the game with some of the woodblock masterpieces that inspired it.
#WMG2019 highlight
Haiku Adventure by @smallislanddevs was a standout for a couple of reasons. It’s super impressive to look at from an artistic point of view but also the idea of finding inspiration in the world to then write a player driven poem at the end feels like such an authentic mechanic.
We’re at the amazing @AdvXConf showing the latest version of our poetic point and click game #HaikuAdventure. So many great narrative games here. #AdvX19

20 days until #advx19, so it's time to introduce "Haiku Adventure" from @smallislanddevs, a game with a unique mechanic - construct haikus to solve problems and resolve conflict! The art style is based on japanese woodblock prints and it looks stunning.
Last chance to see Haiku Adventure: The Craft of Games
@smallislanddevs presents the development of their indie videogame inspired by Japanese prints. The exhibition features interactive game displays alongside Edo-era original prints.
Free entry. Ends tomorrow 15 Sep
