Our dreams don’t have an expiration date—especially for moms!
One of my dear friends from college was told early on that she wasn’t good enough to become a professional singer. Instead, she became a wonderful mother while still nurturing her musical passion by encouraging her children to become great performers. She volunteered, worked, and even served on the Met Opera's board.
Over 30 years later, as she approached becoming an empty nester, she decided to start taking music lessons again...
Now, in our 50s, So-Chung Shinn has performed on the international stage as the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute in Vicenza, Italy. The admiration and pride I felt watching her will continue to inspire me as I embrace this second chapter of life.
It reinforces my belief that it’s never too late to follow our dreams!
