Starting this month, I will begin transitioning from my role as CEO of Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle (LBS), with my complete departure slated for the end of 2024. Why am I departing LBS? Simply put - it’s time. I have entered a new chapter in my life, one filled with new opportunities to explore and experiences to embrace. The time has come for me to embark on a new journey. Who could have imagined that 14 years would pass so quickly? From our humble beginnings as a small student organization on a college campus to becoming a leading Pan-African political organization, our journey has exceeded my wildest dreams. I am in awe of the experiences I have had over the years. From passing statewide legislation and leading a national debate institute to traveling across the US to organize and inspire younger generations of Black people, it has been an incredible ride. Thank you to the entire LBS team. Your support has been invaluable. You have held me down, held me together, and pushed me forward, all at once. I would not be the leader I am today without you.
