This can sometimes be a hard thing to do, but asking those who report to you for guidance is a sign of a mature, well-developed leader. You may not like what you hear, but you and your team will be better.
The leaders set the tone more than anyone else on a team, in a department, or for an organization. Their attitude is contagious. If they are positive, encouraging and open to growth, so are their people.
