We are one of those partners - we're working with leaders and managers in social work to be at the front of this change.
There is no place for racism in social work - partners are taking steps to drive out racism from the sector. Anti-racism in Social Work: A Statement of Intent was published today by the Social Work Anti-racism Oversight Group bit.ly/48Ncpzu

We're looking forward to Alison Penman representing us next week on the panel for The Role of Social Work in Child Contact🗣️
Our National Conference is almost here! Book your place. When it comes to child contact our court system needs reform. The negative impact on women in child contact court cases is worsened by the inconsistent treatment of domestic abuse between family courts and child protection agencies. While child protection professionals urge women to leave abusive partners for the safety of their children, family courts often downplay the abuse in child contact cases. Courts expect women to facilitate contact with abusive fathers, even when there are concerns about safety. Women who oppose such contact or request supervision are often viewed as uncooperative or hostile, rather than as having valid concerns for their children's well-being. Want to hear from the experts on the issues and possible solutions regarding child contact in Scotland? 📢 Join SWA and leading Scottish and international experts in law, justice and social work to explore and draw attention to the systemic issues at play regarding #childcontact, highlighting the need to reform justice processes in Scotland. poverty and cost of living pressures were factors in a drop in the numbers applying to social work courses.
We hope to see more new routes into social work to help mitigate the reported reduction in workforce numbers. communitycare.co.uk/2024/11/…
