Dear Prof. Ojienda, even though you celebrate this judgment, you should have the intellectual honesty to admit its contradiction. The Court found a constitutional violation, awarded KSh 50 million for it, and then preserved the outcome produced by that very violation. In short: the impeachment was unconstitutional enough to be compensated, but constitutional enough to stand. That is a difficult proposition to defend in any serious constitutional democracy.

The right to a fair trial is the most salient right under national and international law. How on earth can you find a violation of that right and then uphold the outcome of a process that violated that right???

A flawed process can only produce a flawed outcome. No fair hearing, no fair outcome. The only remedy in such a case is for the court to void the process and its outcome, and order the decision-maker (Senate in this case) to make a fresh decision.

The real absurdity is declaring that someone's rights were infringed, especially right to fair hearing then holding that the process stands either way.

I was arrested this morning together with fellow patriotic Kenyans during our procession to present a petition to the Kenya Wildlife Services against the excision of part of the Nairobi National Park to construct a 1300-car parking lot. Our national heritage and environment must be safeguarded from greed and unnecessary destruction without public participation.

Her husband told a court she was too strong to be a wife. The judge agreed and stripped Wangari Maathai of everything, her family, her job, her home. She looked around and noticed women walking miles every single day just to collect firewood. So she handed them seeds instead. The government responded with arrests, beatings, and a padlocked office door. 30,000 women trained. 51 million trees planted across Kenya. Nobel Peace Prize in 2004. They handed her destruction. She turned it into an entire forest.

Affordable housing cannot become a cover for land grabbing. The Auditor General has flagged projects built on public and community land without proper ownership records, legal processes, or public participation. Kenyans deserve answers. I have formally demanded a Senate inquiry. Public land is not for plunder. Accountability must come before construction. #StopLandGrabbing #ReKe

Hi Nyakundi, Kindly hide my identity. I am one of about 50 associates currently serving under the post-pupillage programme at the Office of the Attorney General. We have now gone for four months without receiving any payment or stipend despite continuing to report to work and perform our duties. The situation has become extremely difficult for many of us. Some colleagues are struggling to meet basic expenses such as transport, rent and daily upkeep. What is most frustrating is that despite raising this issue repeatedly through the relevant channels, no meaningful action appears to have been taken, and there has been little communication on when the matter will be resolved. We feel forgotten by the very institutions tasked with upholding fair labour practices and public service standards. Young professionals who have already invested years in legal education and training are being left to shoulder a heavy financial burden with no clear answers. We are appealing for public attention to this issue in the hope that the responsible offices, including the Attorney General's Office and the Public Service authorities, will urgently address the delay and provide clarity on when payments will be made.
