So much hate about India in comments. Very interesting ๐Ÿ˜„
Once again, my appeal to Indians in America on a visa. Please come home. Even if you feel it is hardship and sacrifice, self-respect should dictate your course. Let's make Bharat proud ๐Ÿ™

With AI the feeling of - yay! I have accomplished a task is no longer there. it is more of - yes, task is done. I am hopeful with time..things will change...I will get adapted to this new way of claiming the work AI is doing.

the pressure and expectation of delivering fast, shipping 100x, learning 100x is real.
Havenโ€™t met anyone working less after adopting the AI.

Yk what is not crazy? Someone doing cheap labour for your totally unnecessary luxury. Go out and do things yourself man. Donโ€™t glorify slavery.

To my friends from other countries, weโ€™ve got this amazing app called Blinkit in India. Just got these printouts for my assignments at midnight delivered to my doorstep within 15 minutes because all print shops are closed right now. ๐Ÿ˜ญ Crazy, isnโ€™t it?

flexing unorganised routine, bad planning ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ Also, many countries prefer digital submission of assignments over prints and campuses/uni/colleges have the print machine which students are free to use.

You feel burned out when you are putting in a ton of effort in many directions without a clear goal in mind. But, the moment you have a clear direction, know what you are working toward, and can see outputs (not even outcomes), the same work feels energizing. Hence, I always try to set achievable goals and focus on getting outputs at regular intervals. This keeps me grounded, motivated, and far from burning out. Hope this helps.

Atleast there are no AI driven digital menus (yet) ๐Ÿ˜‚
i absolutely hate when some restaurants ask you to scan a qr for the menu because now itโ€™s a table full of friends just on their phones. the joy of collectively flipping through well designed menus and debating what to order while yapping is such a wholesome experience. i get the operational ease but something very real was lost

I bake vegan cakes. There are good alternatives to eggs, butter and milk. Almond, cashew, soya, coconut , plant based alternatives are available. I do understand , to save the cost these bakery uses low quality ingredients. For your own health- do not buy from small bakeries or bake at home.
Brother when you ask for a vegetarian cake, that eliminates the essential part of the cream i.e., eggs. You can't have a vegetarian cake and then complain about the oil in the cream, that's literally what you order. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

The most underrated skill in developer experience is empathy. Empathy is the ability to put yourself in another's shoes. To think, feel, and evaluate things the way they do. When I create something for others to consume (a deeply technical article, livestream on database internals, a tweet) it's useful to think through: - What will my audience find interesting? - Does the content respect their time? - Does this help them grow as an engineer? - Will this provide value to their co? If you're just creating things that *you* find interesting but are not considering what your audience wants or needs, you'll have a harder time reaching people. Ideally "what I find interesting" and "What my reader finds interesting" has a lot of overlap. For me, that happens quite a bit!
