I've got availability for new project work. I help agencies with rescue and redevelopment work covering: 🔴 Laravel 🟥 Craft ⭕️ WordPress I can hop on board from project start, half-way through or even just help you get something over the line. AI-capable (I love arguing with Claude) and fluent in a whole pile of other web-tangential technologies (try me) DM if you're looking for assistance UK-based, but also covering Europe and USA east (West coast makes me sleepy, sorry!) solarise.dev/about

The Fable 5 lockout is going to hurt so many people when 98% realise they can still use Opus and not even notice a difference

Your skill with Claude can be measured by how much you overwhelm him when you keep piling tasks into the Claude Code interface.

If you're telling me you've one-shotted some app or game and are impressed with it, this is like saying "I've eaten some bread" or "I used my legs to walk around the house" and expecting applause.
Rebuilding your favourite SaaS with AI? Well, that's fine. I hope you're considering what your biggest pain point was in that SaaS and fixing it. No, the 5 biggest pain points. No, the 20 biggest pain points. 100. You've got superintelligence at your fingertips. Use it to solve real problems. And thinking about how to ensure you don't introduce more pain points. And ensuring that you keep the concept simple and the interface intuitive and the controls accessible and the design interesting and your own personality shining through in it. Otherwise I'm just not interested in your story.

Basically, the launch of Fable 5 has reinforced my belief that there's a ceiling as high as the stars with what you can do with this stuff, and "I built Minecraft" is the equivalent of scratching around in the mud.

Vibe coding is basically like opening a pretty little box with 100 new problems inside. If you can’t see those problems or don’t know how to address those problems or deny those problems exist then just delete the codebase immediately.

mythos is such a funny way for anthropic to show how they are not serious: first they say it's too dangerous, then they give it to some companies, now it's just gonna be available as b2b saas as any other model what are we doing here

Why is everyone talking about loops? I feel like I'm out of one.

Since the GitHub Copilot token apocalypse this month I’ve had zero urge to code. Something I’ve done my entire adult life Just genuinely depressed. How can you be creative while watching money leave your bank account for thinking? And how can you get that dopamine hit knowing you wasted time when an AI could have done it faster? The only people left coding will be those with effectively unlimited token budgets. End of an era for regular developers.

Rewatching Twin Peaks: The Return for the 3rd time Seeing Cooper after 25 years of stasis in the lodge as he’s launched downwards into nonexistence by the evil doppelgänger of a bulbous tree thing to land on the shores of the purple sea. I can relate to that. I truly can.

I do adore this show but I always know after the first couple of episodes I’ve got another 15 of Dougie tripping over his own tie to go.

This show is the TV equivalent of Boards of Canada’s Inferno

Been working well for me so far but looking forward to the day when it catastrophically won't

Well, the new Boards of Canada album is nothing short of a total masterwork. They've done away with the dusty tape aesthetic and instead have made some of the most insane 3D sounding music I've ever heard. Almost binaural in some places. Many goosebump moments!

One of the worst things about talking to AI a lot is that you realise you can convince them of anything Hey Claude should I paint my house pink? It’s a bold colour will stand me out against the neighbours. Hey Claude actually black is better because I’d be camouflaged at night. Nothing matters when they’ll yes-man almost anything you’re passionate enough about

To be fair Claude pushed back on the black house argument but then I ran with it and he got concerned
