Our lunar lander is headed to the Lone Star State! ⭐ Blue Moon MK1 departed from Florida today, bound for @NASA_Johnson's Thermal Vacuum Chamber A, where it will undergo testing at the same facility as the Apollo spacecraft.

We are just weeks away from Artemis II, where we will send astronauts around the Moon—farther than any crew has traveled before. The mission’s press kit is now available! Check it out: go.nasa.gov/4jGIlL4

The Blue Moon MK1 flight vehicle that will land near Shackleton crater. We’ll soon be doing fully integrated checkout tests. At over 26 feet tall (8 meters), it’s smaller than our MK2 human lander but larger than the historic Apollo lander.

Good overview of the landing. We nominally target a few hundred feet away from Jacklyn to avoid a severe impact if engines fail to start or start slowly. We’ll incrementally reduce that conservatism over time. We are all excited and grateful for yesterday. Amazing performance by the team! Gradatim Ferociter.

From the Mojave Desert to the Moon! We completed the final integrated fixed-wing flight test for our Blue Moon MK1 lunar lander's navigation systems in the Mojave, validating our precision landing hardware and software. A test pod, equipped with a complete navigation sensor suite, was installed on the plane for a comprehensive end-to-end demonstration of all MK1 navigation hardware and software functionality, complementary to testing planned in the vehicle test bed.

Life update! Now presenting “How to Survive on the Moon: Lunar Lessons from a Rocket Scientist”, a children’s nonfiction book written by me and illustrated by the amazingly talented Aaron Cushley. It’s been such a wonderful time working with @neonsquidbooks for this second book!

I bet Neil wishes he had this guide before that first moonwalk. How to survive on the Moon is out now in the US. U.K. spacers will have to wait until Thursday for it. Thanks to @neonsquidbooks and @solarrsystem!

Despite an unfavorable 60% no-go weather forecast, New Glenn defied the odds this morning, successfully lifting off from LC-36 at 2:03 a.m. EST and blazing a trail to orbit on its maiden flight. 🚀🇺🇸
