Dear @sbigeneral, your app is terrible. 1. OTP never comes. 2. If installed, it lists all the old policies. 3. Impossible to get policy document (you don't post hard copy, which patient's family needs when he is in hospital). Your portal captcha is faulty. Digilocker saved me.

Beware of transactional loyalty.
One morning she was the highest-paid actress in Hollywood. By that afternoon, she couldn’t remember her own name. And the industry that had made her famous? It replaced her before she could walk again. September 2001. Sharon Stone was behind a sofa in her San Francisco home when a sudden impact threw her over the couch onto the coffee table. Everything went dark. It wasn’t stress. It wasn’t exhaustion. It was a massive brain hemorrhage — her brain bled for nine days. Doctors gave her a one percent chance of survival. She was forty-three. At the peak of her career. Wealthy, famous, admired. Then, in a single afternoon, everything she knew about herself disappeared. She couldn’t walk without help. She couldn’t read a sentence. She struggled to speak coherently. At times, she didn’t even remember her own name. The world had associated her with beauty, intelligence, and power. She spent years relearning how to move, think, and interact with life itself. “I came out of the hospital looking like teeth on a stick,” she later said. “I lost 18 percent of my body mass in nine days.” Hollywood paused for no one. Roles vanished. Invitations stopped. Her bank account had been emptied while she fought to survive. “I had $18 million saved. But it was all gone,” she recalled. For seven years, her life became therapy: physical therapy to walk, speech therapy to speak, cognitive rehabilitation to think. Her senses shifted; everything felt altered. "My sight, touch, smell — everything changed," she said. She lost her marriage. Custody battles. Friends vanished. Her career evaporated. Then, gradually, clarity emerged. She saw that the loyalty around her had been transactional. “What remained after everything burned away mattered infinitely more,” she said. A Buddhist monk reminded her: “You were reincarnated into your same body.” She decided to stay present. To live for joy and purpose. Later, she returned to acting on her own terms. And during the pandemic, she rediscovered painting, spending hours daily exploring the world her rewired brain now perceived. At sixty-seven, Sharon Stone is alive. Creating. Honest. She survived the stroke, the erasure, and the loss of identity. And in that loss, she found herself.

Very confusing. Who appointed these worthies to their current posts?
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar held a high-level virtual meeting where he severely criticized the top brass for their failure to prevent the chaos: To the Kolkata CP (Ajay Nanda): In a blunt assessment, the CEC reportedly questioned his professional competence, stating: "You cannot manage Kolkata, how did you become an IPS? If you want, I will give the responsibility to someone else." To the Chief Secretary (Dushmant Narial): The CEC questioned his availability, noting that even the High Court Chief Justice could not reach him via phone during the height of the crisis. To the State DGP: The CEC reminded him of his seniority and demanded better performance, stating that the current state of affairs in Bengal was "unacceptable." Outcome: The ECI expressed deep embarrassment as these officers were specifically appointed by the Commission to ensure a peaceful election. Following a Supreme Court observation, the ECI has now ordered a CBI probe into the Malda violence and directed the immediate withdrawal of security for "musclemen" leaders with criminal records by tonight.

The last day of #UberShuttle in Kolkata. My stop Rampur Bumper was on global map. Sad day for commuters in #Maheshtala area in particular, and all who invested in brand new buses, unless some other operator steps in. Hopefully with a better model.

I had just tasted the Mixed Mei Foon soup at Eau Chew today when the table shook. Ah, the heavenly soup made me tremble! Then I realised it was an #earthquake. The last one we felt here was in December 2025. I continued. No point in running out. telegraphindia.com/west-beng…

G.O.A.T.! The thief who stole 4 #goats can't eat them unless he is a butcher. He certainly got the owner's goat! Think of the cop tasked with checking 14 CCTVs! Have our detectives become goats? BTW, goat meat, which we Bongs call lamb, costs Rs 900 a kg. timesofindia.indiatimes.com/…

Someone should get data on server outage, link down etc. Right now #Aadhaar is more important than airlines... which rarely have such issues

Don’t tell me the people beautifying the park didn't submit a detailed plan, and that no one in KMC “cleared” it... The same thing happens with fire department licences. No one tracks down the clearance. Or enforces it. timesofindia.indiatimes.com/…
