DevOps and SRE have simply become the new Dev and Ops. Each has higher lifecycle coverage, higher skill expectations, and new titles. They're just wrapped in a new culture and use new tools (very important). We consolidated, now we're specializing.. again. A rambling🧵👇

I'm working with pyATS, and looping over a number of tests that are given a healthily-sized dict for input. This makes the output.. less than useful. I haven't been able to figure out how to manually set the test name aside from the function name/input combo it uses. Any tips?

I am excited to share that I will be joining @Google as a Network Automation Engineer focusing on a new offering within the Google Distributed Cloud! 🥳 For those @CiscoLive wondering where I am.. there you go. This is also why my #DevNetExpert has been paused (for now)!

YANG is not easy. As long as you drift away from a 10 lines example you immediately feel that.

I tend to agree. They exist, but there aren't many of them. There is still a widespread misconception that a neteng doing Python basics can design and build network automation systems, when in reality it's a completely separate job. I gave up fighting it and quit to pursue cloud

One specific note of praise for the #DevNetExpert team: The documentation was 🔥 The team did a great job listing it out and cloning the web pages. I know it was hard to get all the third party documentation. 👏👏@CiscoDevNet @hfpreston and others I don’t know handles for!

1:30-4AM pre-exam and I’ve been awake listening to neighboring rooms’ music, TVs, tyrannical snoring, and some seemingly well executed horizontal aerobics. Things are going well. 🙃

It's the day before my #DevNet Expert. Time to reflect on prep and topics I am weak or strong on in the blueprint, as well as my testing strategy. - Prep: should've prepped more - Weak: NET/REST-CONF, YANG, NSO, pyATS - Strong: Docker, k8s, OWASP, design - Exam Strategy (!) 🧵
