Oh wow, what a sad day. I just learned of the death of the venerable Corradina Caporello, Italian diction coach with whom I had the privilege of coaching so many roles including Violetta, Lucia, Contessa, Ilia, Donna Anna, Donna Elvira, and Musetta.

I can still see her in her tea-length wool skirt and cheeky bob elegantly smoking a cigarette, practically a walking Fellini film star. Every diction note she gave was infused with the music. What a gift to us all. We will miss you, bella Corradina 💙

One of the great honors of my career was to sing Clémence in her gorgeous and sumptuous “L’Amour de loin”. She painted colorful worlds with her music. Her beautiful music, bright eyes and red lipstick are seared in my memory. Rest In Peace, dear Kaija 💙
