I hate saying this... There really are exJW "Apostates" who are exactly everything Jehovah's Witnesses claim they are. That's a damn shame! Some self proclaimed activists that are very full of themselves, seemingly have delusions of grandeur, and take a "by any means necessary" view of activism. They have no problem fabricating outlandish stories of taking on the cult in ways that never actually happened. They have no problem embellishing second hand stories or misrepresenting facts to journalists that then have to retract those stories when Watchtower rightfully challenges them. They are the people that CESNUR can use as examples when painting all exJWs with the same broad brush. They grift and ask for money to support their important work. They use the gut wrenching stories from CSA victims to advance their cause. They even attack victims that have dared raise their voice about suffering additional abuse at the hands of these "advocates". They have no concern for the truth. They threaten and roll over those in their way. They're hyper dramatic. They seek attention and importance and claim to be central figures in important governmental efforts to protect those being harmed by the cult. Truth and facts should matter in our efforts to raise awareness of the harms perpetuated by Watchtower. After all, aren't we trying to be better than them? Why would we lie and deceive and manipulate when those are their tactics? The fact that I won't name names when I had no issue blowing the whistle on the PR tactics of a multi-billion dollar international religious corporation tells you something about how dangerous some of these people are. The fact that this could be referring any number of a handful of exJWs that you could be thinking of really is a damn shame! We shouldn't have to fight these battles on multiple fronts. But thankfully it's a tiny minority. Be better than them. I appreciate all of you out there fighting this fight legitimately. Keep it up!

I just learned of a disfellowshipped young woman who took her own life after enduring the mental effects of shunning. The elders were aware of her vulnerability and did nothing. Below is a message her JW mother left on her memorial page. She makes sure to advertise jw org.
