1/ 18 months into @pluralplatform, we’ve raised a new €400M fund. This is an endorsement of the first 26 teams we’ve backed and the level of ambition now emerging from Europe: techcrunch.com/2024/01/22/pl…
We are starting a new, nonprofit alignment organization, ⊢ Sequent Research, bringing together researchers previously on UK AISI’s Alignment Team, Timaeus, and elsewhere to research how to align superintelligence. We are hiring! 🧵
Cursor have chosen London as its European headquarters.
The new HQ opens this summer, 200 hires by December.
Cursor is just the latest arrival:
>OpenAI signed 88,500 sq ft in King's Cross
> Anthropic took 158,000 sq ft (room for 800 people)
>Microsoft leased 100,000 sq ft in Soho
>ElevenLabs is doubling UK staff to 200
>Jeff Bezos's new AI lab is negotiating London space
AI firms leased 40,000 sq ft of London offices per month in 2025.
In April 2026 alone, 450,000 sq ft. A 10x jump.
A decade ago AI was 4% of London tech leasing,now it's 34%.
1/ Huge milestone for Oriole Networks today as they announce a collaboration with AMD to pair AMD's GPUs with Oriole's PRISM photonic networking architecture
I spent the last 2 months getting under the skin of Anthropic and its leaders. My @FTMag cover story this weekend captures the world’s most valuable AI start-up in this moment as it looks ahead to its next act. Here’s 6 things I learnt during my reporting ft.com/content/e17665ea-c5ca…
It seems a bit odd to see Bernie Sanders acknowledge a foundation of global public goods "A.I. is built on our collective intelligence: our books, songs...and ideas spanning generations" and then pivoting to the solution that AI should be owned by the people of a single country.
A joy to be back in No10 today with some fantastic founders for a pre-London Tech Week pep talk. Failed at team photo taking but @murvahi & Lauren didn’t 😂
1/ I'm really excited to share that Plural is leading @Orbital_Ind's $50m Series B round
Orbital is using AI to discover and design novel compounds from the atoms up, then engineering the products that exploit them directly.
