"Abolishing the law of value" is about as idealist as abolishing the laws of gravity whereas the materialist policy of establishing communist society entails the formation of that social space within which all conditions for the law of value to impact life are "vacuumed away"🤩

Abolishing the law of value leaves a remainder. History shows heteronomy easily survives the death of the market. Replacing this impersonal coordination demands the physical reengineering of fragmented enterprises into a cohesive, consciously planned whole. ✂️

Other than that, the quoted tweet is actually pretty good and likable and communist imho 😊

Communist society is a self-conscious *safe space* *within* which the law of value *ceases to function* precisely because the *necessary conditions* for the law of value to function are abolished, namely private property in particular and differentiated property relations at all

The Soviet Union inherited the material infrastructure of capitalism. The factory system, the hierarchical division of labor, the assembly line. The physical gears and cogs of accumulation remained completely intact after 1917. 🧵

this is a prime example as to why socialist realism hate is over blown, actually
Socialist realism gets a lot of hate (justified) but this one is really great

Marx, Capital 2, Ch1: The purchase & sale of slaves is formally a purchase & sale of commodities. Money functions as means of circulation under various social conditions, not just as capital. The mere possession of money does not make slavery (or capital/wage labour) possible.

We have not even started to scratch the contemplative implication of the "abolish the commodity form" noise which amounts to a complete eradication of a revolutionary subject, pretty much calling every human being -billionaire or proletarian- to stop touching all that dirty money

It could be "one-sided" to direct any blows against exploiter classes such as the capitalists so lets water down Marx's call to negate *capitalist private property*, to expropriate capital with a revolutionary dictatorship of the proletariat - into some "abolish money" variation

Marx publicly criticized the »superficial and formal manner« of our noisy commodity abolitionists and verbose value form fetishists in 1859 already:

Lenin never finished the seventh chapter of State and Revolution about revolutionary conditions in 1905 and 1917 because “it is more pleasant and useful to go through the experience of revolution than to write about it.” Like Lenin or hate him, this was a pretty good line.

two veritable quote forgeries in one handy sheet - for marx did not talk any "abolition of the commodity-form" just as Stalin did not talk any "socialist commodities"
