Iām in Dulwich. One of the more expensive areas of London, supposedly a global city, and Iām getting worse mobile phone reception that I did in Kabul a decade ago. I pay for two contracts: @O2 and @EE and neither is reliable so I canāt work.
Mobile phones are useless in vast areas of Britain and have got worse. You can never work on a train, unlike in France. But weāre spending Ā£4.5 billion in bike lanes and crossings.
This government is prioritising virtue signalling vanity projects when we need infrastructure urgently.

This was our response to the proposals.
Newcastle City Council have published plans for Jesmond Dene Road and Matthew Bank. This implements a variation on the plan for a cycle track agreed by the Blue House Working Group in 2018 and extends these down Matthew Bank.

If you build apartments in a cul-de-sac where public transit can't get to them, you should be held responsible for increasing traffic congestion. That's what high density without non-car options ALWAYS means.

Interesting article. Not convinced extra rail will reduce traffic on the A1, but if extra capacity between Newcastle and Edinburgh is the aim then rail should be the priority.
Is the #ECML being overlooked as a solution to the safety issues on the #A1 in #Northumberland? #ModalShift away from driving and onto rail, and road freight onto railfreight could save lives.

The Dutch mobility system isn't just built around cycling.
