In the early hours of this morning, I directed our Armed Forces to intercept a shadow fleet oil tanker attempting to pass through the English Channel. This successful operation delivers yet another blow to Russia and reminds those fueling Putin's war in Ukraine that we will not let them hide. I want to thank those involved, including our Armed Forces and law enforcement officers who keep this country safe 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Back in 2023, Cambridge faced an uphill battle to stay up. They had to win and hope results elsewhere went their way. They won 2-0. It was a nervous wait, but complete pandemonium when they heard MK Dons had lost and they’d stayed up. Quality! 😍👏

What my grandparents story taught me is that what we should remember on this Holocaust Memorial Day is not just the horrors of Auschwitz - the planned , mechanised & industrialised attempt to wipe out an entire people but also what led up to it.  That was, quite simply, the willingness of ordinary people to ignore, go along with or, worst still, applaud the idea that all their problems were due to another group of people who deserved to lose their dignity, their freedom and, ultimately, their lives simply for being other.
