Among other projects to support patients with #aphasia, we are rolling out #CommunicationAccess training by @RCSLT for staff across @WaltonCentre and improving care through the introduction of The Hospital Communication Book from @clearcommpeople #AphasiaAwarenessMonth
For Aphasia Awareness Month, our speech & language therapists are highlighting how they look after our patients. #Aphasia affects the ability to use & understand language. Around 350k people have aphasia in the UK after brain injury. Take the aphasia quiz:orlo.uk/k8GUK

My amazing colleagues @WaltonCentre @NewcomenAnnie and @CharlotteLSLT ! One example of some of the fantastic work done by the #SLT team here @RCSLT #TeamTracheTed
Meet James, his family and Tracheostomy Ted! They were the first family to benefit from Ted when James experienced a bleed on the brain. Ted helped James' young children understand why their daddy needed a tube to help him breathe while he was recovering: orlo.uk/BBth7

Frustrating example of poor communication access. All public-facing businesses should have the knowledge & skills to support people with communication difficulties. A great training & access symbol initiative is offered by @RCSLT #DisabilityTwitter communication-access.co.uk/

This resource is great for #SLT groups and 1:1 therapy! Accessible for patients of all abilities; from supporting cause & effect development for #PDOC to high level language or #CCD groups. The possibilities are endless! Thanks @lifesizetouch !
We've got THE BEST #FridayFeeling! @lifesizetouch have installed 3 interactive screens to enhance our patient & family experience. Patients can use them for life-sized video calls, and our therapy teams will use them in patient rehab exercises - how cool is that?!

This is amazing! So inspirational. Talk about functional goals for speech and language therapy! #SLPeeps
.@JoeBiden and I agree that pain is best overcome by purpose. I still struggle to speak, but at tonight’s #DemConvention, I made my voice heard. For the safety and future of our country, we must elect @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris.
Come and join the wonderful team @WaltonCentre ! A fabulous opportunity for an NQP to work with an eclectic neuro caseload at a specialist trust. We can't wait to meet you! jobs.nhs.uk/xi/vacancy/91608…

So pleased to have been part of your journey @sophieMallon_ Swallowing is something that most of us take for granted but when you couldn't, you never stopped fighting for your goal to eat and drink again - however long it took! #rehabworks #SLPeeps
