Your mitochondria don’t just respond to food… They respond to light. A 2025 Scientific Reports paper from Dr. Glen Jeffrey shows near-infrared (NIR) light (800–875 nm) can be detected on the opposite side of the human thorax after passing completely through it. Meaning this light passes through clothes and your body - and your mitochondria respond. I recently interviewed Dr Jeffery, link at the end of the post Even more interesting: • Vision improved after light exposure to the back • Eyes were completely covered • Effects were systemic → mitochondrial Modern white LEDs (400–650 nm) remove this entire spectrum. Bad for mitochondria, melanin & dopamine More ROS. What are some causes risk factors for osteopenia or osteoporosis? 1. Obesity resulting from leptin resistance and poor circadian rhythm 2. High insulin levels (your own or injected) 3. Small build or natural leanness– correlates with BMI below 19 for women and men. Skinny isn’t healthy either 4. Excessive alcohol intake- even greater than two drinks a day consistently will do it. 5. Low sex hormones (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone) 6. High parathyroid hormone levels 7. Tobacco use- This causes a 100 fold increase in bone loss. 8. Stress- any cause be it emotional, physical, mental, psychic all raise cortisol chronically and destroy bone 9. Reduced strength and activity due to a chronic illness or a sedentary life (checked with a grip test) 10. Non-native EMFs - 5G, Wi-Fi etc 11. Drug therapy, for example, long-term use of corticosteroids such as prednisone-used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, celiac disease, autoimmune diseases, Crohn’s disease, IBD, and ulcerative colitis. 12. Low Magnesium, strontium, boron, Vitamin D3 (from the sun) Vitamin K2 13. Menopause Andropause (male menopause) 14. Lack of sunlight (IR, UV) & natural vitamin D 15. A diet high in whole grain (carbohydrates) is especially risky due to mineral malabsorption in gut 16. A diet lacking in animal protein and animal fat and cholesterol. 17. Excessive use of statins and thyroid hormones 18. Chronic endurance athletics of any type cause severe bone loss due to chronic high levels of cortisol 19. Gastric bypass patients have enormous osteopenic risks 20. Diabetes 21. You can have “normal” cholesterol and still be metabolically unhealthy You can have normal blood sugar levels but still be insulin or leptin resistant or struggle with your weight. But most people are missing what actually drives poor metabolic health: → Insulin too high → Cortisol dysregulation → Triglycerides → Light environment Your mitochondria—which use glucose and fat—depend on light. Poor light exposure (low sunlight, artificial light at night) disrupts circadian rhythm, raises cortisol, and impairs how you handle glucose—driving insulin higher. High insulin high blood sugar = cardiovascular risk Not just heart disease risk—but also weight gain, poor energy, and hormone dysfunction. Fix your internal and external environment. Fix the system. In my FREE guide, I explain what can lead to blood sugar issues & break down the optimal triglyceride to insulin ratio which is window into your metabolism , plus a lot more around blood sugar—like nitric oxide, HRV, and what your numbers actually mean. No matter how good your Leaky Gut protocol is, if there is ongoing exposure to toxins, there will be no healing Downregulation of intestinal stem cell (ISCs) proliferation & differentiation, driven by inflammation, gut-dysbiosis, intestinal immune dysregulation, microbial endproducts, loss of paneth cell signaling will compromise healin long term In studies of mycotoxin injury, giving binders to remove the exposure upregulated ISC function & regeneration of the epithelial layer The same will go for antimicrobial protocols needed to fully get hold of the problem at hand, if the goal is long term solution of your problem, without over-reliance on supplements Below is a list of support tools for ISC function (not exhaustive):

I just want to say my provider Utility Warehouse (UW) try to tell me my gas and electric meter “has expired and won’t work” if I DONT install a SMART METER ! This is complete bollocks as they don’t own my analog meters and I can switch provider anytime So any UW or any provider - Don’t listen to them and ask to have “I don’t want a smart meter or LEDs” put as a note on your file
SMART Meters 101 SMART meters are computerized electric meters that transmit electricity & gas usage to the utility using wireless Radiofrequency (RF) communication. This is the same radiation that your cell phones emits but SMART meters broadcast 24/7 at a power density 100 to 160 times that of a cell phone. They transmit pulses of wireless RF radiation between 9,600 to 190,000 times per day. and it doesn't end there.. SMART meters record your electrical usage in fine detail. Because of this, SMART meters generate dirty electricity (line noise), which is as harmful to health as the wireless radiation the meters emit (if not more) Smart meters allow the utility to shut off your electricity without sending someone to your home (remote shut-off). The Zigbee wireless network they contain allows the utility to shut off new smart-chipped appliances whenever they want. One of the main reasons the utilities are deploying SMART meters is because these meters will allow them to charge time-of-use rates (peak pricing), which means you will be paying way more for electricity when you most need it. In contrast, Analog meters can’t be hacked. Analog meters do not require electricity to run. Analog meters do not generate harmful Dirty electricity. Opt-out, if you can.

I am doing a large n=1 experiment (large means lots of test long time 😀 ) on ancient Daoist medicine using Prof YK Leung’ teachings All of the tests be it blood work, MRI, DNA methylation etc are accessible to lay people & those who want to be their own n=1 or a decentralised patient. - Remember - lots of lab ranges are wrong or misleading From a Yin Yang perspective I’m taking the opposite route to the Bryan Johnson’s and Dave Aspery’s - I find what they do interesting, but I’d rather use an ancient method and not take supplements or have surgery. I have nothing against that - I personally don’t want to - that’s all Read about it here open.substack.com/pub/drsara… I’m sure in Moana there was a phrase “there is always another way”

This only PART of it I’m running a real n=1 experiment: Ancient Daoist training × modern measurements • Internal external martial and Qigong • Tendon, bone & ligament strengthening • Qi / life-force cultivation • Nervous system endocrine activation • Consciousness training (not just physical output) • No supplements or Chinese herbs The details are in my Substack - open.substack.com/pub/drsara… I’m not guessing as Prof Leung likes to see data I’m measuring everything. MRIs. Bloodwork. Hormones. DNA methylation, metabolic status, body metrics, Cognitive performance and more (ideas welcome !) Tracking whether an ancient system can actually change human biology in real time as it takes years and years to master such methods and Im only a beginner Because most of the health space is opinions… Very few people are testing anything. If this works, it changes how we think about: • Injury recovery • Tendon & ligament adaptation • Performance • Longevity • Self-healing Ancient medicine × modern science × quantum health - East West open.substack.com/pub/drsara…

Changing your light bulbs might be the simplest health upgrade you’re overlooking. Here’s why👇 Most LEDs are heavy in blue light with zero infrared. That imbalance can disrupt sleep, increase inflammation, and stress your cells. Incandescent bulbs were labeled “inefficient” because they produce heat infrared… But that “waste” is actually biologically useful—supporting cellular energy and recovery. The sun = blue red infrared (balanced) LEDs = mostly blue (imbalanced) ⚠️ Don’t fall for “full spectrum” LEDs — that just means visible light, not infrared.

There’s a lot of fear around vitamin A toxicity, but here’s what most people are missing Synthetic vitamin A supplements are not natural and may be potentially harmful but that’s only part of the story. Your body doesn’t operate on isolated compounds. Just like vitamin D, vitamin A exists in multiple forms, interacting within a complex, light-driven system. And importantly, we have vitamin A receptors throughout the body. That means this molecule is signaling, regulating, and influencing gene expression in ways most people never consider. Vitamin D is made from cholesterol using UVB light starting in the skin and finishing in the kidneys. The form you supplement? It’s a storage form, not even the active hormone your body actually uses. Vitamin A works the same way, context matters. It’s not just about intake, it’s about how your environment affects it. Here’s the overlooked piece:
Artificial blue light disrupts vitamin A by causing it to detach from the proteins it’s meant to bind to, turning a beneficial molecule into a potentially harmful one. So don’t blame the nutrient, look at the environment. What actually helps:
✅Reduce artificial blue light (especially at night)
✅Use blue-blocking glasses when needed ✅Choose warmer, natural lighting (incandescent > LED)
Get daily sunlight exposure to regulate these pathways naturally This is just the beginning A is for Vitamin A. Your doctor might say your insulin is “normal”…But most lab ranges (2–25) include people who are already insulin resistant or with a comprimised metabolism. Optimal is closer to:→ 2–6 µIU/mL→ Ideally 3–5. But triglycerides are a key metric to measure too (I’ve put this in my guide too with ideal numbers) Once insulin is above ~8, your body is compensating.Above 10? That’s dysfunction—even if glucose looks perfect. And it’s not just about carbs, but too many too too often is a problem . my free guide 👉🏼 get.busysuperhuman.com/quant…. (I’ve updated it with lab ranges for the 2026 version) High insulin is often driven by:→ Poor sleep→ Chronic stress and cortisol → Artificial light at night→ Low thyroid function. I found that adding in local, seasonal carbohydrate sources grown in the UK or where I have travelled to makes a big difference in how well they’re actually used. Then doing the appropriate exercises for me and learning how HRV and NO regulate insulin and blood glucose This isn’t about removing carbs— unless you are on a medical keto diet or you thrive on meat only it’s about matching them to your biology, location, activity and hormone status #insulin #quantumbiology #bloodsugar #carbs #keto
