Today marks a historic milestone for the Chromie Squiggle Collection, Snowfro, SquiggleDAO, and the entire on-chain generative art community. The MoMA (@MuseumModernArt ) in New York has officially added a Full Set of Chromie Squiggles to its permanent collection!🎉 moma.org/artists/140754-eric…
The enduring significance of Chromie Squiggles itself, Snowfro’s pioneering exploration of code as artistic medium, is what ultimately made this moment possible. We’re grateful for the generosity of collectors across the ecosystem, with special thanks to @kukulabanze & @Noahbolanowski at @1OF1_art , and all donors who contributed Squiggles to help bring this work into MoMA’s collection: @VonMises14@gmoneyNFT@jdh@ArtOnBlockchain, @kukulabanze and an Anonymous Collector.
Highlighting a set of Triplets.
Triplets are Squiggles with the same DNA: same start and end color, same color spread, same number of segments, etc, and only different shape or type.
Only 2 sets of Triplets exist.
Vuk Ćosić is not only a pioneer of the internet art movement who coined the term, but also stole an entire website in 1997, then produced an ASCII series thereafter that... would certainly be a fav of Marilyn Minter, if you catch my drift...
Below is an homage to @ArtOnBlockchain's Chromie Squiggles series by Vuk Ćosić. (Not the series referenced above).
Just hit a major milestone in my collecting journey as I’m now the proud owner of Chromie Squiggle #3279
Low CS 6, beautiful flowing shape, and that big energy I’ve been chasing.
Feels incredible to add a true AB genesis piece to the collection.
Grateful for the journey and shoutout to @RDToTheMoon for putting this @gondixyz listed Squiggle on my radar.
Digital art for the win!
The first NFT I ever minted was a Galaxiss on @artblocks_io. It was a magical moment that quite literally changed my life.
Since that day, I've always aspired to own one piece of art. The OG by @ArtOnBlockchain.
Today, that aspiration became a reality.
I own a Squiggle!
