This is a good idea to increase women's representation -assuming interest in doing so is genuine -without opening Pandora's box. Congress should engage with it, ensure BJP can't ignore it. There're issues to consider. One is, LS shouldn't be enlarged without expanding Rajya Sabha
My article in Deccan Herald proposes a new method for women’s reservation. It avoids the delimitation process and proposes a fair and realistic way out of the present deadend. Comments are welcome.(The table may need to be modified.) @BJP4India @INCIndia deccanherald.com/opinion/wom…

Can a PM make a political speech attacking the opposition in the form of a national address? Is it ethical in a democracy, especially with the Indian flag in the background? #Modi

Modi’s speech also had some of the most shameful phrases that any PM has ever uttered. This man is desperate. He has shown he can stoop to any level. Be warned, India. #Modi

Apart from all else that was so unbecoming of the PM, @narendramodi's address to nation today was a clear violation of MCC. Will @ECISVEEP take action? Oh, but I forget, the Election Commissioners are appointed by Modi&Shah & are at their mercy. Such's the state of our democracy!

Now, now, to all those saying Ashley Tellis was a darling of Congress and Liberals, please note it was the Vajpayee govt that gave Tellis unprecedented access, almost to the bomb basement, as a top N-scientist put it to me in 2003. It was for good reason. @amitmalviya

At this time, Tellis is only indicted, not proven guilty. I know, the details seem damning. But remember, in the world of spying/espionage and when there are multiple 3-letter agencies, things can get very complicated. Exactly what he was doing, for whom, no one knows.

Also note that at least some of Tellis’ friends are still standing by him. The thing to worry about is whether Tellis is the beginning of an episode of McCarthyism as a new Cold War takes hold.

Ashley Tellis?!

Here’s what my suicide note might look like someday: No one is responsible for my death. Not even me. I was frustrated. All I did was to try to login to IRCTC and book a train ticket. @RailMinIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw

Trump delivers — from the heart, thanks to teleprompter failure — what seems like a schizophrenic speech. One part gaslights Europe on migration, climate change, even religion. And then ends the speech with the words of a global statesman. What do we make of it?

Considering all that’s being said over the past two weeks, did Mukesh Ambani just extend an olive branch to Modi and Adani?

With the bill to sack CMs if jailed for 30 days, Amit Shah ji planned an urgent fake encounter of democracy and a very basic principle of rule of law “innocent until proven guilty”. This is not amendment of the Constitution, it’s its very destruction. @ncbn, this is aimed at you.

This comes to mind over @ECISVEEP’s SIR in Bihar and its arguments in SC: Majdhaar mein naiyyaa dole, to maanjhi paar lagaaye Maanjhi jo naaw dooboye use kaun bachaaye? कोर्ट में चुनाव आयोग की बड़ी हार, 65 लाख लोगों की लिस्ट छापनी होगी youtu.be/Sq1dzx30TIw?si=fvnS… via @YouTube

And many in the Indian establishment had believed Biden was the enemy, Trump would be their great friend! Turns out that Trump bows down to China, the bigger bully, but rages against India, who he thinks is weak.
India was one of the first countries to start trade talks w/the Trump administration. It made many early concessions, including tariff reductions. It’s been increasing US goods imports & investing in US for years. Trump calls India a friend. India was still hit with 25% tariffs.
