We have to give ourselves grace since we are first learners (every day) before we are teachers. Sometimes, the weight of our responsibilities makes learning something new feel like an indictment of what we didn’t do (know) yet.

It may have been a hard Winter Break for lots of folks. As we return to school/work, instead of asking about the break, try greeting people by saying: “It’s good to see you. I’ve missed you. Is there anything you’d like to share?”
We are preparing students to be successful… but we also need to prepare them to fail. Life is not easy. We need to teach students how to overcome adversity.
